Greetings from the World Organization of Webmasters (WOW) and the Extreme Markover Committee.
WOW is a non-profit professional association who is teaming up with business, industry and education to benefit non-profit organizations by offering Web professional advice and a website makeover with the best practices of the day.
Millions of websites are out of date and are in need of an update.
Starting December 2008, every Web professional in the world will be invited to participate in the ExtremeMarkover-Web Edition, an event that will be a true test of Web professional proficiency and talent while giving back to the community. Educators and students from around the globe will also be invited to follow along in the process on the Extreme Markover blog website.
Goals:Established by the non-profit professional association World Organization of Webmasters, (WOW), the goal of ExtremeMarkover-Web Edition is to:
- Promote the Web Profession while giving something back to the community by improving the look, the feel and the functionality of a notable non-profit organization website
- The event also provides Web professionals an opportunity to showcase their talents and expertise to transform websites to best practices of the day
The World Organization of Webmasters, (WOW), in partnership with the Web Design World 2008 Boston, Web Directions North 2009 Conference and Bizland, the leader in Web hosting will kickoff a call for participation for Web professionals worldwide to participate in the Extreme Markover-Web Edition".
Web Professionals will be asked to complete a registration form complete with their willingness to participate and to donate their services for charity.
WOW's Design and Technical Committee will review and report on a sampling of the websites for peer review and best practices placing a call to the interntaional Web Community.
